Background of Grimmjow's Sword
Grimmjow is a member of the Espada, the ten highest ranking and most powerful hollows under the command of Aizen. When Grimmjow removed his hollow mask, his true power got released and he ascended to join a group of Shinigami like beings called "Arrancar.” The Arrancar possess powers which are far greater and more powerful than any of the other Hollows. Grimmjow uses his incredible strength to fight the Gotei 13 captains, who are primary opponents of the Espada.
The Pantera (trans. "Panther") is a powerful sword which Grimmjow uses to fight with Shinigami strength in Aizen’s fearsome Espada. Grimmjow seals his power in the form of his sword, “Pantera”, which, when released (the Resurrection), reveals Grimmjow's true power and strength as a hollow. The Pantera is a blue katana with a “S” shaped guard and has intricate blue wrapping on its handle.
